Access Pipeline currently operates diluent systems that run from Edmonton to Conklin, Alberta, and a diluted bitumen system that runs from Conklin to Edmonton. Additionally, Access Pipeline operates several other shorter systems that transport diluent to and from various locations, primarily in the Alberta industrial Heartland.
Pipeline field operations are based out of our Fort Saskatchewan office as well as out of our offices in Conklin Alberta and at our Sturgeon Terminal field office.
The pipeline system is remotely monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by our control centre, using state-of-the-art control and communications equipment, such as our Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
This supervisory control system provides the necessary safeguards to operate the pipeline in accordance with the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) regulations.
